'The SECRET' is a New Age Book

It is a humanistic systematic doctrine or philosophy of life. It presents itself as Universal truth which will solve all the problems of all mankind. Its teachers declare that they are presenting this ancient wisdom that only a select few wise men in the past knew. They say all truths come from the same source, whether it's from a religion or the great philosophers.
The New Age is an enemy of Christ and the Bible. Yet it is very subtle and deceptive in that it often uses biblical terminology that seem to parallel a lot of teachings of the Bible. The New Age teaches truths and half truths laced with poisonous lies. It is sinister, deceitful, and cunning. The New Age disguises where it is really going from Christians and those who don't know the Bible well. The bottom line is it is a godless philosophy cloaked in chicanery. One of the main things that distenguishes the New Age from the Bible is that God the Father and Jesus are left out of its formulas. YOU are put in God the Father and Christ's place. At the same time, as one delves deeper into the New Age one will find many open and blatant teachings against God. The New Age does not believe that Christ is any more divine that you are.
The biggest selling books in major book stores are about the New Age. Its philosophy is imbedded deeply in psychology and has permeated our educational systems; entertainment industry (TV, Movies, radio); the business world; medicine, government and religion. It is influencing every segment of society. It often comes disguised as Success Seminars promising to teach people how to prosper and to achieve their dreams. Its stealthy objective is to stamp out biblical Christianity and to make the world a totally secular society. The reality is that the New Age has cloaked itself as "an angel of light" that has twisted and turned truth into a lie that is damning millions in this life as well as for eternity. Its goal is to conquer the whole world with its philosophy and to delete the Bible from the church and the world.
In this article, I am going to show you THE DOCTRINES OF THE NEW AGE from one of its most popular best selling books, "THE SECRET" by Rhonda Byrne. Oprah is one of the promoters of this New Age book. This book contains a compilation of quotes from notable New Age teachers. This article is a book review of this "The Secret". After reading this you will understand the New Age, because I will show you what they teach from quotes from their own book. It is so tricky, I will compare it with the Bible's teachings so you can tell the difference.
The Secret - In its opening it says, "As above so below".
*Whenever you see this phrase you know that this is classic New Age terminology.
The Message Paraphrase Bible changes the terminology in the Lord's Prayer. It replaces "as in heaven so will it be in earth" to "as above so below". This shows how the New Age has penetrated Christianity.
The Secret - p. xv uses the terminology "Transformational leaders"
The word "transformed" is biblical Romans 12:2, "be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind". They misappropriate this word by applying it to anti-biblical philosophy. These "Transformation leaders" secret agenda is to transform the church and society from sound Bible doctrine to a godless New Age philosophy.
The New Age philosophy is an eclectic one deriving from all religions and philosophies.
The Secret - p. 4 "Religions, such as Hinduism, Hermitic traditions, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, and civilizations, such as the ancient Babylonians and Egyptians, delivered it through their writings and stories."
The Secret - p. 4-5 "…THE LAW OF ATTRACTION as the greatest and the most infallible law…" "You can go back to the ancient Babylonians…"
*Note: According to the Bible, the ancient Babylonians were enemies of Israel and God.
WEALTH
The Secret - p. 6 "They think thoughts of ABUNDANCE and WEALTH…" "Their predominant thoughts are of wealth." "They know only wealth, and nothing else exists in their minds." "It is the law of attraction in action."
The Secret - p. 6-7 "Thinking thoughts of wealth to thinking thoughts of loss"
There are similar teachings in the Bible, Pr. 23:7 "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he."
*So there is some truth in what they are saying. How we think is important.
The Secret - p. 7 "The simplest way to look at the law of attraction is if I think of myself as a magnet, and I know that a magnet will attract it.
The Secret - p. 9 "Set it in your mind, you're going to hold it in your hand."
p. 11 "You are a human transmission tower, and you are more powerful than any television tower created"
p. 14 "When you focus on the things that you DON'T WANT…you really are calling that into existence"
p. 17 "You create your life. WHATEVER YOU SOW, YOU REAP! Your thoughts are SEEDS, and THE HARVEST YOU REAP WILL DEPEND ON THE SEEDS YOU PLANT."
*They teach "sowing and reaping".
The Secret - p. 19 "THE POWER OF YOUR MIND"
p. 20 "This is a universe of INCLUSION, NOT EXCLUSION"
*This New Age concept is becoming the philosophy of the nations.
p. 21 "…the mind is actually shaping the very thing that is being perceived." (Science of Mind)
It lists some of the great New Age thinkers. "…the world's great minds, including Carnegie, Emerson, Shakespeare, Bacon, Krishnamurti (Hinduism), and Buddha"
p. 22 "Oftentimes when people begin to understand the Great Secret, they become freightened of ALL NEGATIVE THOUGHTS they have."
*There is some truth to this. Unbelief is being negative about the promises of God. The big difference here is that their idea of being negative has nothing to do about believing the Bible. Also, if one thinks "all negative thoughts are bad", he would refuse to acknowledge that he ever had a problem and therefore does not deal with the situation. This is suicidal!
The Secret - p. 23 "One way to master your mind is to learn to quiet your mind. Without exception, every teacher in this book uses MEDITATION as a daily practice."
*The meditation the New Age is talking about is the same as in Buddhism, to bring one's mind to nothingness. When the Bible talks about meditation in Psalms 1, it is referring to meditating on the Word of God not bringing your mind to nothingness.
The Secret - p. 23 "You are now receiving the knowledge that will enable you to create the most magnificent version of YOU."
*So according to the New Age, knowledge is the key to changing yourself, not being Born Again. John 3:3. The New Age idea about knowledge changing one is a partial truth!
The Secret - p. 25 "Everything sent out returns to THE SOURCE-YOU."
*According to the New Age, YOU not God are the source. This is unscriptural! The Secret - p. 28 "You have a choice, and whatever you choose to think will become your life experience."
*That is true! Deut 30:19 "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life , that both thou and thy seed may live:" KJV
The Secret - p. 30 "The importance of feelings cannot be overstated. Your feelings are your greatest tool to help you create life."
*The above is anti-intellectual statement. To be controlled by ones feelings is to be controlled by your flesh and passions which will lead one to use bad judgment, and will destroy ones life.
The Secret - p. 30 "The EMOTIONS are an incredible gift that we have to let us know what we are thinking."
*Feelings can be a good or a bad thing. If one lives by his feelings he will be an emotional and business wreck. I am a pilot. If I was flying in the clouds and followed my feelings vertigo would set in and I would lose control of the plane and crash. A pilot must totally ignore his feelings and fly the plane totally with his mind, focusing on the instruments. The Secret - "It's those feelings that don't make you feel empowered. Those are the bad feelings."
*This is the world's philosophy, "If it feels good, do it!" This philosophy will lead a person into sin and self destruction.
The Secret - p. 32 "If you are feeling bad, you're creating a future that's off track with your desires."
p. 33 "Your feelings are your frequency feedback mechanism!"
*To only use your feelings primarily as your feedback mechanism and not use your brain will get one in deep trouble. The Secret - "So when you are feeling bad it is communication from the Universe, and in effect it is saying, "Warning! Change thinking now. Negative frequency recording. Change frequency. Counting down to MANIFESTATION. Warning!"
p. 34 "If you start out having a good day and you're in that particular happy feeling, as long as you don't allow something to change your mood, you're going to continue to attract, by the law of attraction, more situations and people that sustain that happy feeling."
*If one's objective is to be happy, he will not do the mundane things he needs to do for survival. He will become a sluggard and become destitute. Pr. 20:4.
The Secret - p. 34 "You have the power to change anything, because YOU are the one who chooses your thoughts and YOU are the one who feels your feelings."
*Rom 1:25 "Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator…" KJV
The Secret - p. 37 "So the more you can FEEL GOOD, the more you will attract the things that help you FEEL GOOD, and are able to keep bringing you up higher and higher."
*This is an irrational and irresponsible! Doing what feels good will lead you to drunkenness, drug abuse, fornication, and being a sluggard who won't work.
The Secret - p. 38 "There is no greater power in the universe than the power of love."
"…the law of attraction is the law of love."
*That is true! The Bible says the greatest thing is LOVE. I Co. 13
The Secret - p. 38 "Feelings is desire, and DESIRE IS LOVE."
*This is not true! Feelings can be a bad desire for someone else's wife or a prostitute. Desire can be apart of love, but it by itself is not love. The Bible says that Love suffers long; is patient;
The Secret - p. 39 "…YOU create your own reality."
*There is some truth in that. Our choices affect our lives. In so many words they are saying reality or truth is fluid. Many live in a fantasy world that has nothing to do with reality of human relationships and how to function effectively on this earth.
The Secret - p. 45 "YOU are a creator…"
"The Genie always says one thing: "Your wish is my command."
*A Genie is associated with sorcery. This again shows they are not looking to God for anything.
p. 46 "Then you've got the Universe at large, which is the Genie. Traditions have called It so many things-your holy guardian angel, your HIGHER SELF." "This wonderful story (about the Genie) demonstrates how your whole life and everything in it has been created by YOU."
*The New Age doesn't believe in God or the devil.
p. 47 "You get to choose what you want, but YOU must get clear about what YOU want."
*It is true one must get clear what he wants, but the New Age does not factor in God's will. 1 Jn. 5:14.
The Secret - p. 48 "It is YOU placing your order with THE UNIVERSE."
The Secret - p. 48 "Believe that it's already yours. Have what I call UNWAVERING FAITH. Believing in the unseen. You must believe that you have received. You must know that what you want is yours the moment you ask. You must have complete and utter faith."
*This is a take off of Mark 11:22-24. It would be true except God is left out of the formula. New Age Faith is nothing more than Positive Thinking.
The Secret - p. 50 "Claim the things you want by feeling and believing they are yours." "How do you get yourself to the point of believing? Be like a child, and make believe. Act as if you already have. It." "Have faith. Your belief that you have it, that undying faith, is your greatest power. When you believe you are receiving, get ready, and watch THE MAGIC begin."
*This is copying what the Bible says about having faith as a child. Mt. 18:4-5. Feeling has nothing to do with receiving from God, believing does. Believing God, not just believing to believe.
The Secret - p. 51 "The key to power lies in using what you have…freely, fully…and thus opening wide YOUR CHANNELS for more Creative FORCE to flow through you."
"Most of us have never allowed ourselves to want what we truly want, because we can't see how it is going to MANIFEST."
p. 51 "You don't need to know how its going to come about." "How it will happen , how the Universe will bring It to you, is not your concern or job. Allow the Universe to do it for you. When you are trying to work out how it will happen, you are emitting a frequency that contains a lack of faith-that you don't believe you already have it.
*This is a perversion of scriptures where Jesus said He could do no mighty miracles because of their unbelief. In the New Age Jesus is not factored in its type of faith at all. The Universe which is inanimate, replaces God, Jesus. This is not even logical. It really is a spin off of Hinduism where people pray even to trees.
The Secret - p. 52 "Step three...is to receive. Begin to feel wonderful about it. Feel the way you will feel once it arrives. Feel it now."
"If you just intellectually believe something, but you have NO CORRESPONDING feeling underneath that, YOU don't necessarily have enough power TO MANIFEST what you want in your life. You have to feel it."
The Secret - p. 53 "ASK ONCE, believe you have received, and all you have to do to receive is feel good."
"A fast way to get yourself on that frequency is TO SAY, 'I am receiving NOW'."
*That is faith, but again God is deleted.
The Secret - "…Marcy is one of the greatest MANIFESTORS…" "She feels everything into existence. She doesn't get caught up in the how, when , or where, she just feels it and it then MANIFESTS."
*The Bible says nothing about feeling it to get it. Feelings have nothing to do with Faith in God.
The Secret - p. 54 quotes, Mark 11:24 "What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."
*What makes it New Age is that although they are talking about praying, they are praying to the Universe and higher self and are not praying to God.
p. 55 "Action is a word that can imply "work" to some people, but inspired action will not feel like work at all."
*Action is important. The Bible says Faith without works is dead." Js. 2:26 The Secret - p. 55 "When you are acting to receive from the Universe, you will feel as if you are FLOWING with the current of THE RIVER.
The Secret - p. 55 "Don't second guess. Don't doubt. When the opportunity is there, when the IMPULSE is there , when the INTUITIVE NUDGE from within is there, act."
"Trust your instincts. It's the Universe inspiring you. It's the Universe communicating with you on the receiving frequency. If you have an intuitive or instinctive feeling, follow it, and you will find the answer that the Universe is magnetically moving you to receive what you asked for." *According to the New Age, God is not communicating with you, it is the Universe.
*1 Cor 14:10 "There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification." KJV
Your intuitive nudge may be a demon spirit or your flesh.
The Secret - p. 56 "You will attract everything that you require." "If it's people you need you'll attract it." "But it literally moves into physical reality with and through you. And it does that BY LAW."
p. 57 "All you have to do is think things into being."
*This is Science of Mind!
The Secret - p. 57 "Trust the Universe. Trust and believe and have faith." Again it is copying they Bible but replacing God with the Universe.
p. 50 "Let go of those limiting thoughts. Food cannot cause you to put on weight, unless you think it can."
*Ridiculous! If you eat a lot of carbohydrates and sodas it will make you fat even if you don't think it will, unless you have a tape worm.
The Secret - p. 60 "You must believe you will receive and that the perfect weight is yours already. You must imagine, pretend, as if, make-believe, that the perfect weight is yours. You must see yourself as receiving that perfect weight."
*Faith in God has nothing to do with pretending.
The Secret - p. 61 "You must feel good. You must feel good about You."
*How can a person feel good about himself if he is practicing excess in his lifestyle and he is living in sin and corruption?
The Secret - p. 61 "Praise and bless every square inch of your body."
*The Bible says we are to praise God. Psa. 150.
The Secret - p. 62 "I am convinced that if we can eat our food in the present, entirely focused on the pleasurable experience of eating, the food is assimilated into our bodies perfectly, and the result in our bodies must be perfection." Ridiculous!
The Secret - p. 62 "Time is just an illusion." "If you understand that, THERE IS NO TIME, and accept that concept."
*Tell your boss that! See how long it takes you to get fired. A pilot knows how much fuel his plane burns an hour. If he doesn't watch the time he will run out of gas and crash.
Ecc. 3:17 There is a time and a season for everything. A time to be born and a time to die.
The Secret - p. 63 "The Universe does everything with zero effort." "It's all about what's going on in your mind." "YOU provide the feelings of having it NOW, it will respond-whatever it is."
*The Bible says man must work, either physically or mentally. Ge. 3:19
The Secret - p. 63 "Another thing people wonder about is, 'How long will it take to MANIFEST the car, the relationship, the money?'"
"It is easy to MANIFEST one dollar as it is to manifest one million dollars."
"Some people have an easier time with little things, and so we sometimes say start with something small, like a cup of coffee."
*The word manifest is in the Bible, but it is not used the way the New Age uses it. They use it regarding your 'miracle manifesting', which would mean in time it will come. The word manifest is never used that way in the Bible.
The Secret - p. 63 "It was identical to the picture he had created in his mind,"
p. 65 "He realized his amazing ability and power to attract something to himself through THE POWER OF HIS MIND. With total faith, he has now moved onto creating much bigger things."
*The Faith they are talking about is not Faith in God, but faith in one's mind.
The Secret - p. 65 "People are amazed at how I line up PARKING SPACES." "I WOULD VISUALIZE a parking space exactly where I wanted it, and 95 percent of the time it would be there for me…" "I always get parking spaces," "These people expect it."
*Again, this has nothing to do with God.
The Secret - p. 66 "…FEARFUL and apprehensive about something unpleasant, you are sending unseen agencies ahead of you which will make some kind of unpleasantness."
p. 67 "If you are rushing or hurrying, know that those thoughts and actions are base in FEAR (fear of being late) and you are "fixing up" bad things ahead for you. As you continue to rush, you will attract one bad thing after another into your path."
*What if you have a speaking engagement or a flight to catch? Not being on time can ruin a trip or a career. What if you are getting married. You had better get to the church on time, or else.
The Secret - p. 66"Set the Universal FORCES ahead of you in everything you do…"
The Secret - p. 68
1. "ASKING the Universe for what you want…"
2. "BELIEVING involves acting, SPEAKING, and thinking as though you have already received what you've asked for."
3. "RECEIVING involves feeling the way you will feel once your desire is manifested."
*God is not in the formula anywhere. No asking God; believing God, or receiving from God.
The Secret - p. 68 "It takes no time for the Universe to MANIFEST what you want."
*This may be true even with the promises of God. This is a spinoff of that. The Secret - p. 71 "Your current reality or your current life is a result of the thoughts you have been thinking." "That a man can change himself…and master his own destiny…"
*There is an element of truth here. Your thoughts control your actions and words. But here again, they have not factored God or Christ into the equation.
The Secret - p. 72 "Every time you look inside your mail expecting to see a bill, guess what-it'll be there!" "Expect a check!"
*It's good to be positive, but if you keep making bills, you are going to get them in the mail whether you believe it or not. If one pays his tithes and offerings to God's work he can expect blessings from God. Mal. 3:10. To just expect it without God is a pipe dream.
The Secret - p. 73 "All that we are is a result of what we have thought." Buddha
"It is never to late to change the pictures."
p. 74 "If it is a new thought to you that GRATITUDE brings your whole mind into closer harmony with the creative energies of the Universe,"
*Gratitude is scriptural! Jesus taught it. But, gratitude to God not the inanimate Universe. That is Hinduism. Worship of the creation.
The Secret - p. 76 YOU are the CREATOR of your life,"
*Once again, YOU takes the place of God in the New Age.
The Secret - p. 77 "You could look around and SAY, "Well, I don't have the car you want," etc. "Whoa! Back up, back up!
Those are all the things you DON'T WANT."
p. 78 "They can only return to you more of what you do not want. Those NEGATIVE emotions are blocking your own good coming to you."
*Bible Faith has nothing to do with emotions, it only has to do if you believe in your heart God has heard your prayer.
The Secret - p. 81 "VISUALIZATION is a process that has been taught by all the great teachers…throughout the centuries..."
"The reason visualization is so powerful is because as you create pictures in your mind of seeing yourself with what it is you want, you are generating thoughts and feelings of having it now."
"When you VISUALIZE then you materialize."
*There is some truth in this, except that God is not involved in this in the New Age. The word "visualize" and "visualization" is not in the Bible.
The Secret - p. 82 "All the FORCES of the Universe brought his invention into the world, through him."
"These were men who had utter faith in the INVISIBLE…" "Their faith and their imagination have been the cause of the evolution of humankind…"
*This is a takeoff from He. 11:2 "Faith is the evidence of things not seen". Again, God is nowhere in their philosophy.
The Secret - p. 85 "If you turn it over to the Universe, you will be surprised and dazzled by what it delivered to you.
This is where MAGIC AND MIRACLES HAPPEN." "You are implementing trust and faith in the Universe, because you are focusing on the end result and experiencing the feeling of that, without giving any attention whatsoever to the "how" it will come about." "Your mind and your entire state of being are seeing it as already happened. That is the art of visualization." "the powerful law of attraction and the IMMACULATE MATRIX of the Universe in Action."
*This Immaculate Matrix they are referring to is the ancient goddess of Babylon, Ishtar; Isis of Egypt; Fatima of Islam; and Mary of the Roman Church. It is the ancient goddess of paganism. That is the spiritual power behind the New Age.
The Secret - p. 89 "The Universe says, 'Your wish is my command,' and disappears."
"When you allow a thought of doubt to enter your mind, the law of attraction will soon line up one doubtful thought after another." "Replace it with 'I know I am receiving now'. And feel it."
*The Bible speaks against doubt. Mt. 21:21 Again this is copying and perverting the scripture The difference is the New Age is using this scripture and applying it to their humanistic god, YOU.
The Secret - p. 91 "Imagination is everything."
*Imagination is not everything. There are good and bad imaginations. The Bible talks about evil imaginations out of men's hearts. 2 Cor. 10:5. Believing God's Word is everything!
The Secret - p. 92 "Believe you deserve it and believe it's possible for you." "Then go into your day and release it to the Universe and trust that the Universe will figure out how to MANIFEST IT."
*The Bible says we receive by the Grace of God, not because we deserve it. 2 Thess. 2:16.
The Secret - p. 95 "Whatever the mind…can conceive it can achieve." W. Clement Stone
*There is an element of truth here, but once again, God is not in the formula. The Secret - p. 98 "You have to emit a new signal with your thoughts, and those thoughts should be that you currently have MORE THAN ENOUGH."
*This is borrowed from the Bible which often said that God provided "more than enough". Ex. 36:5.
The Secret - p. 98 "…create a blank check…" "The blank check is for you and it is from the Bank of the Universe. You fill in your name, the amount, and details, and place it in a prominent place where you will see it every day."
The Secret - p. 99 "Every negative thought, feeling, or emotion is blocking your good from coming to you, and that includes money." "If you do not have enough, it is because YOU ARE STOPPING THE FLOW OF MONEY COMING TO YOU, and you are doing that with your thoughts." "Think more THOUGHTS OF ABUNDANCE than of lack, and tip the balance." God has nothing to do with their blessing."
*According to the Bible, no matter whether you have negative or positive thoughts, if you don't do something, nothing is going to happen. Js. 2:26. Too many are sitting around waiting to win the lottery. It can happen, but the odds are long.
The Secret - p. 101 "Your job is to declare what you would like to have from the catalogue of the Universe." "I would like to have twenty-five thousand dollars, unexpected income, with the next thirty days,…" "It should be believable for you."
*This is a perversion of Mark 11:23 from the Bible.
The Secret - p. 102 "When you have a pile of bills that you have no idea how you are going to pay, you cannot focus on those bills, because you will continue to attract more bills." "…focus on PROSPERITY…"
"If the words 'I can't afford it' have passed your lips, your power to change that is now. Change it with, 'I can afford that! I can buy that!' Say it over and over. Become like a parrot."
p. 103 "The SPIRITUAL SUBSTANCE from which comes all visible wealth is never depleted."
*The word "substance" related to money is scriptural and taking from the Bible. Job 1:3.
p. 104 "They focused on thoughts of wealth and the Universe moved people, circumstances, and events to deliver wealth to them."
*This is unscriptural! The Universe doesn't deliver things to you, God does. "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you." Lk 12:31
The Secret - p. 105 "When you make-believe, the results come fast!" This can be deadly. *When one is believing the promises of God he is not playing 'make-believe'.
p. 106 "I grew up on, 'You have to work hard for money.' So I replaced that with, 'Money comes easily and frequently'.
Now in the beginning it FEELS LIKE A LIE, right?"
p. 107 "The good news is that the moment you decide that WHAT YOU KNOW is more important that WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN TAUGHT TO BELIEVE."
*This is a premeditated deprogramming of the Word of God from a person, and teaching them to follow their own heart instead of the Bible. This concept will produce a lazy person.
The Secret - p. 107 "Start to SAY and feel, 'I HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH.' There is AN ABUNDANCE OF MONEY AND IT IS ON ITS WAY TO ME.' 'I am a money magnet.' 'I LOVE MONEY and money loves me.' ' I am receiving money every day.' Thank you. Thank you. Thank you."
*The Bible says "the love of money is the root of all evil." I Tim. 6:10
The Secret - p. 107 "GIVING is a powerful action to bring more money into your life, because when you are giving you are saying, 'I HAVE PLENTY.'"
*This is true, Luke 6:38, but it makes a difference what you are giving to and the motive for which you are giving. 2 John 11.
The Secret - p. 108 "If you are thinking, 'I don't have enough money to give,' bingo! Now you know why you don't have enough money! When you think you don't have enough to give, START GIVING. As you demonstrate FAITH IN GIVING, the law of attraction must give you more to give."
"THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE OF GIVING AND SACRIFICING. Giving from a heart that is overflowing feels so good. Sacrificing does not feel good." "You can feel the difference."

*This is true, and it is a takeoff from John 10:10.
The Secret - "…Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and Jesus were not only PROSPERITY TEACHERS, but also MILLIONAIRES themselves, with more affluent lifestyles than many present-day millionaires could conceive of."
*Jesus was not a millionaire. "Foxes have holes, birds have nests, but the son of man has no place to lay his head." Lk. 9:58. The others mentioned from the Bible were blessed by God, not by the Universe or there operation of the Science of Mind."
The Secret - p. 109 "You deserve everything you want…"
*That is not true! Rom 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners , Christ died for us." KJV
The Secret - p. 109 "The key is your thoughts and feelings,"
*No! The key is believing God's Word. Heb 11:5-6 "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." KJV
The Secret - p. 110 "You need to go for the INNER joy, the INNER peace, the INNER vision first, and then all of the OUTER things appear."
"Everything you want is an INSIDE job!" "…you will experience TRUE HEAVEN ON EARTH."
There is biblical truth to this. Eph 3:16 "That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;" KJV. But this is perverted because its focus is not on the work of God in one's life. To the New Agers, the only heaven or hell is in THIS LIFE.
The Secret - p. 111 "It is helpful to use your imagination and make-believe you already have the money you want. Play games of having wealth and you will feel better about money; as you feel better about it, more will flow into your life."
*Make believe is not the same as believing God.
The Secret - p. 111 "Give money in order to bring money into your life."
This is true if properly applied. The Bible says in Lk. 6:38 "Give and it shall be given."
The Secret - p. 111 "Think wealth."
*Wealth is not to be our focus, but pleasing God and living by His Word. People who think about only money all the time are some of the most miserable people in the world. Money is necessary but can't buy love, happiness or eternal life.
The Secret - p. 113 "The Secret means that WE are creators of our Universe, and that every wish that we want to create will MANIFEST in our lives."
The Secret p. 115 "Leveraging the Universe and Engaging the Magic."
*Magic is a work of witchcraft which is a work of demons. The Bible says witchcraft is a sin. Gal. 5:20. The New Age is involved in witchcraft and the occult.
The Secret p. 117 "Make room to receive your desires, and as you do, you are sending out that powerful signal of expectation."
*Philippians 1:20, to be expectant is scriptural, if your expectation is from the Lord and your labor.
The Secret p. 117-118 "…so if you do not treat yourself with love and respect, you are emitting a signal that is saying you are not important enough, WORTHY ENOUGH, or deserving."
p. 119 "Many of us were taught to put ourselves last, and as a consequence we attracted feelings of being UNWORTHY and undeserving." "You must change that thinking."
*We should not be self degrading, but neither should we be arrogant about how good we are.

*There is truth in that statement. The Secret p. 121 "There's something so magnificent about YOU." "I WANNA KISS MYSELF SOMETIMES!"
*This statement is at the foundation of being egotistical and full of pride. Prov 11:2 "When pride cometh , then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom." KJV Jesus said, "learn of me. I am meek and lowly." Mt. 11:29
The Secret - p. 121 "And as you love yourself, you'll automatically love others."
*This is similar to the Bible, "Love your neighbor as yourself."
The Secret p. 126 "Healing through the MIND can work harmoniously with medicine."
*There are truths here about right thinking affecting one's health along with medicine, but they are not looking to Jesus at all to help them for healing.
The Secret p. 127 "But when you shut yourself off with NEGATIVE THOUGHTS, you'll feel the discomfort…"
"All stress begins with ONE NEGATIVE THOUGHT." "No matter what you might have MANIFESTED, YOU can change it…with one small POSITIVE THOUGHT and then another."
*Positive thinking is good, but the Bible doesn't say positive thinking changes things, it says Faith in God changes things.
The Secret p. 128 "…love and gratitude will dissolve all negativity in our lives,"
"When a person has MANIFESTED a disease in THE BODY TEMPLE…can it be turned around through the power of 'right' thinking? And the answer is absolutely yes."
This is Science of Mind.
*Right thinking helps to recover, but true right thinking is to believe God's Word, the Bible. Using the terminology "The body temple" was hijacked from the Bible which says "our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost." 1 Cor. 6:19
The Secret - p. 128 "We couldn't afford to put any stress in my life, because we knew stress was one of the worst things you can do while you're trying to HEAL YOURSELF."
Again, YOU are the healer, not Christ. This is totally godless.
The Secret p. 129 "The power of gratitude to heal, the POWER OF FAITH TO RECEIVE, and the power of laughter and joy to dissolve disease in our bodies."
"Norman released all negativity, and he released the disease."
*This is partially true. The Bible says in Proverbs 17:22, "a merry heart doth good like a medicine." But again, God is nowhere in their healing formula.
The Secret p. 129 "We all come with a built-in basic program. It's called "SELF-HEALING."
*This is partially true. There are some things we can do to help recovery, but many things only Jesus can heal. Acts 10:38.
The Secret p. 130 "Disease cannot live in a body that's in a healthy emotional state."
That is partially true. Malaria, cancer and other diseases take down many people who otherwise are in a good emotional condition.
The Secret - p. 130 "It can only be held there by thought, by observation of the illness, and by the attention given to the illness."
*This is mind over matter. If one does not observe his symptoms and deal with it, most of the time it gets worse. i.e.: Cancer.
The Secret p. 130 "Illness cannot exist in a body that has harmonious thoughts."
*There are psychosomatic diseases where our thinking does affect our bodies, but there are also viral diseases that are rooted biologically. This is a perversion the scripture Ex. 15:26, "I will put none of these disease on you that I put on the Egyptians if you will do whatever I command you."
The Secret p. 131 "You can see that beliefs about aging area all in our minds." "Western society has become fixated on age, and in reality there is no such thing."
That is irrational! How productive one is in later years is related to one's thinking. It is a nice thought to think we won't age, but the reality is "it is appointed unto man once to die" He. 9:27. You will die, even if you don't believe you will. God never intended for man to ever die, but sin brought death to the world. Rom. 5:12. That is why Christ came to bring us immortality. Ro. 2:7. But immortality first will be spiritual and later physical after the resurrection. I Co. 15.
The Secret p. 131 "You can THINK your way to the PERFECT STATE OF HEALTH, the perfect body, the perfect weight, and ETERNAL YOUTH."
*This is Science of Mind or Christian Science which does not believe in doctors or medicine.
The Secret - p. 131 "If you have a disease, and you're focusing on it, and you're talking to people about it, you're going to create more diseased cells."
"That's because they're thinking about it all the time, so they're just VERBALISING their thoughts."
The Secret "p. 131-2 "If you are feeling a little unwell, DON'T TALK ABOUT IT-unless you want more of it."

*There is an element of truth, but if you have a disease you better not ignore it but deal with it in one way or another, or it could be fatal.
The Secret - p. 132 "Let's say you have two people, both stricken with something, but one chooses to focus on joy." "Then you have the send person. Same diagnosis, but the second chooses to focus on the disease, the pain, and the "WOE IS ME."
"When people are completely focused on what's wrong and their symptoms, they will perpetuate it. The healing will not occur until they shift their attention from being sick to being well."
*There is an some truth here. A positive attitude makes a difference. The Bible defines this as one not losing his faith in God and his word when he gets sick, not just being negative.
The Secret p. 133 "Negative thoughts and stress have been shown to seriously degrade the body and the functioning of the brain, because it's our thoughts and emotions that are continuously reassembling, reorganizing, re-creating our body."
"Start thinking happy thoughts and be happy."
"Remove physiological stress from the body…" "It HEALS ITSELF".
*The reality is that life is stressful, whether single or with a family. It's impossible to get rid of all stress.
Pretending you don't have a problem when you do is just asking for it to get worse.
We must try to minimize stress, it is harmful, but only through Christ can we have peace when we are facing trouble.
John 14:27 Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." KJV
The Secret p. 134 "…letting go of all NEGATIVE THOUGHTS."
*This can be deadly. When my engine stopped while I was flying my plane, it brought me negative thoughts. I immediately controlled by thoughts and acknowledge I had a problem and dealt with it. If I would have ignored it, we would have all died. The above statement is similar to letting go of UNBELIEF. But the difference of the New Age and the Bible, the Bible is referring to unbelief in Jesus and God's promises. In the New Age Jesus nor the Bible have nothing to do with what the Bible calls unbelief, it is just being negative.
The Secret - p. 134 "…so I immediately imagined myself seeing as clearly as when I was twenty-one years old."
The Secret p. 135 "I always say that incurable means 'curable from within'."
*There are elements of truth, but from the Bible it says "his word is health to our bones." Pr. 3:8.
The Secret - p. 135 "It is the world where "MIRACLES" are everyday occurrences.
*The New Age talks about miracles often, but it is not talking about miracles God brings to you (John 12:37), but about miracles you bring to your self by your right thinking and speaking.
The Secret p. 136 "You can change your life and YOU CAN HEAL YOURSELF."
"I pictured my self being a normal person again."
*There are things a person can do to help himself. But once again, Jesus is not factored into the New Age healing formula. Isa. 53, Ex. 15:26. The New Age is man is his own savior. He does not need Christ to be His Savior. Eph. 5:23.
He totally looks to physicians and himself for healing. It is not wrong to see a physicians or work on one's outlook on life. Often, it is wise, but one should seek the Lord, also.
2 Chron 16:12 "…in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians." KJV
The Secret p. 137 "…it demonstrates the unfathomable power and unlimited potential of the HUMAN MIND."
The Secret - "All things are possible when you believe."
*This is borrowing from the scriptures. The Bible says the same thing, except it is not focusing on BELIEVE as the object, but as a means to touch Jesus. Mk. 14:36.
The Secret p. 139 "When a patient truly believes the table is a cure, he receives what he believes and is cured.
"Laughter attracts joy, releases negativity, and leads to MIRACULOUS CURES."
"Disease is held in the body by thought,"
*That can be partially true. But many times surgery and prayer are necessary, it's not just mental.
The Secret p. 142 "What you resist persists"
"Resistance to anything is like trying to change the outside pictures after they have been transmitted. It's a futile pursuit."
*There is some truth here. The Bible says, "Resist evil with good". Rom. 12:21
But the Bible also says, "Resist the devil and he will flee from you."
It was not futile for the Allies to resist Hitler and Japan. We are not to lay down and let lies or evil men prevail over us. One of the purposes this is taught is so the New Age teachings won't be resisted. They want us to roll over and follow everything the tell us.
The Secret p. 144 "…the more you talk about what you don't want, or talk about how bad it is," "…well, you're creating more of it."
"YOU have all the power."
*That is not true! Jesus has all power. This is replacing Jesus with YOU. Matt 28:18 "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth." KJV
The Secret - p. 144 "Focus on ABUNDANCE…"
*We are not to focus on abundance, we are to focus on doing the will of God.
1 Tim 6:10 "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." KJV
The Secret p. 145 "As a GLOBAL COMMUNITY, we are responsible for it."
*The New Age is the impetus behind Globalization and the One World movement. A world without Jesus and the Bible.
The Secret - p. 145 "…take your attention away from what you DON'T WANT,"
*There is some truth here, but the fact is one had better keep an eye what is trying to destroy you.
The Secret p. 146 "It's not your job to change the world, or the people around you. It's your job to GO WITH THE FLOW inside the Universe, and to celebrate it inside the world that exists."
*That is opposite of what the Bible teaches, Mt. 28:19 "Go therefore and teach all nations…" We are not to go with the flow of evil and lies in the world. In fact this is hypocritical statement, because the New Age is trying to change the world to its thinking. They want us to go with the flow of what they are doing.
The Secret - p. 146 "YOU are the master of your life, and THE UNIVERSE IS ANSWERING your every command"
*This is perversion of the Bible. Mt. 10:24 Jesus is the Master NOT you! It's impossible for the Universe to answer you.
It has no eyes, ears, arms or voice. This is ancient mysticism.
The Secret p. 147 "All of this begins to come through A MIND that is aware of its own INFINITE NATURE."
*The truth is that man's mind is finite, God and Christ are infinite.
The Secret p. 148 "Every great teacher who has ever walked the planed has told you that LIFE WAS MEANT TO BE ABUNDANT."
*This concept was taken from the Bible. Jn. 10:10. 1 Tim 6:9 also speaks about money. "But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition." KJV The Secret p. 149 "…people believed in the UNLIMITED POWER OF THEIR MIND."
"…we will call forth ABUNDANCE."
The Secret p. 150 "There are no limits to what YOU can create for YOU, because your ability to think is unlimited."
*While there are elements of truth in this statement, again, the error is that YOU have taken the place of God.
The Secret - p. 150 "If you believe it, if you can see it, if you act from it, it'll show up for you. That's the truth."
*This would be true if God or Christ was in the formula, but they are not.
"If you have any lack, if you are prey to poverty or disease, it is because you DO NOT BELIEVE or do not understand the power that is yours."
"The Universe offers all things to all people through THE LAW OF ATTRACTION."
The Secret p. 151 "In the Bible, the Hebrews used the act of blessing to bring forth health, wealth, and happiness. They knew the power of blessing."
*The perversion here is that they leave God out as the source of the blessing.
The Secret p. 152 "…and as you emit that magnificent frequency, it will RETURN TO YOU A HUNDRED FOLD."
This is a perversion of what the Bible talks about A HUNDRED FOLD. In fact, the hundredfold teaching on giving and receiving in Christianity is unscriptural. None of the scriptures in the Bible that are talking about a hundredfold refer to giving an offering. Mk. 10:30, Mt. 13:23.
The Secret p. 156 "…the theories of NEW SCIENCE."
*The Bible calls this, "science falsely so called", I Tim. 6:20.
The Secret - p. 156 "Let me explain how YOU are the most powerful transmission tower in the Universe."
The Secret p. 157 "The Universal Mind is not only intelligence, but it is substance…"
*The Bible says Faith in God is the substance. He. 11:1 "Faith is the substance of things hoped for"
The Secret p. 159 "What created the Universe?" And he or she will say, "God". OK, describe God. 'Always was and always has been, never can be created or destroyed, all that ever was always will be, always moving into form, through form and out of form.' You see, it's the SAME DESCRIPTION, JUST DIFFERENT TERMINOLOGY."

*The above statement shows the New Age's attitude towards God. They really don't believe in God.
The Secret p. 160 "Ultimately we are the source of the Universe…" "Create anything." "…Universal CONSCIOUSNESS that runs the Universe."
*"So we are the creators, not only of our own destiny, but ultimately we are the creators of Universal destiny. WE ARE THE CREATORS OF THE UNIVERSE. So there is no limit, really, to human potential." "One Universal Mind,"
*That is not so! God is the creator of the universe. It is God who runs the universe not some ethereal consciousness in outer space.
Job 26:7 "He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing ." KJV
There are few limits to human potential if he is in Christ and following His Word. We are limited by our morality and getting in other peoples space.
2 Cor 12:19 "Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but we do all things." KJV
The Secret p. 160-1 "The One Mind is all intelligence, all wisdom, and all perfection, and it is everything and everywhere at the same time." "…then it is all in YOU!"
"…using your wonderful imagination." "The Supreme Mind holds that possibility."
*The Bible speaks of us having "the mind of Christ", Philippians 2:5. Christ is the Supreme Mind and it is not in YOU if you don't know Him and walk in obedience to His Word. Then, you are walking in a very limited "fleshly mind". 2 Cor. 2:18.
The Secret - p. 160-61 "As you ask and feel and believe, you will receive." "You hold everything in your consciousness."
"Divine Mind is the one and only reality."
*You are not divine! You don't have this mind without Christ. This is a perversion of the scripture teaching us to have the mind of Christ.
The Secret p. 162 "We're all connected." "Everything in the Universe is connected."
*Not true! We all affect each other, but different philosophies and religions separate us. The Bible says we are to come out from among those who don't walk in His Word and be separate from them. 2 Cor. 6:17. True Christians are not connected with unbelievers in Christ.
p. 162 "Think about every NEGATIVE emotion there is and you will discover that every one of them is based in FEAR."
*Not all fear is bad. Some types of fear are necessary for self-preservation. A "Spirit of fear" is bad. 2 Tim. 1:7.
The fear of the Lord is a good fear. Pr. 14:27, Mt. 10:28.
The Secret p. 163 "You have to get COMPETITION out of your mind."
*This is a socialistic mentality. In reality, the New Age is very competitive against the Bible.
The Secret - p. 163 "the true supply is the invisible field, whether you call that the Universe, the Supreme Mind, God, Infinite Intelligence, or whatever else."

*Once again they show that atheism is the root of the New Age.
The Secret p. 164 "YOU ARE ETERNAL LIFE."
*What an insane statement. You will die someday! The eternal life they are referring to is reincarnation of Buddhism and Hinduism. Once again this is putting YOU in Christ's place. The Bible says believing on Jesus alone will give you eternal life. John 3:16.
The Secret - p. 164 "You are God manifested in human form,"
"YOU are God in a physical body. You are Spirit in the flesh. You are Eternal Life expressing itself as You. You are all intelligence. You are perfection. You are magnificence. You are the creator,"
"…you have God potential and power to create your world,"
*No greater lie has been told. We are made in the image of God, but we are not God. Ge. 9:6, Job 40:9. We are godlike in that we are eternal beings, not like animals, and will live forever somewhere. Satan's lie to Eve was "she would be like God". Ge. 3:5.
The Secret - p. 166 "A person who sets his or her mind on the dark side of life, who lives over and over the misfortunes and disappointments of the past, prays for similar misfortunes and disappointments in the future."
*This statement is true. The Bible says, "Whatsoever things are good…think on these things." Philippians 4:8.
The Secret - p. 166"If you hold a grudge or blame someone for something in the past, you are only harming yourself."
*True! Jesus taught us to forgive one another. Mt. 6:14.
The Secret - p. 167 "…all that the power within you is greater than the power within the world."
*This is a perversion of the Bible, "Greater is HE who is in you than he who is in the world." This is referring to Jesus in you and not YOUR HIGHER SELF in you. I Jn. 4:4.
The Secret - p. 168 "…the power of the words I AM. When you say 'I am,' the words that follow are summoning creation with a mighty force, because you are declaring it to be fact."

*The "I AM" Ex. 3:14 in the Bible is referring to God almighty not YOU.
The Secret - p. 169 "…there can be no question about its MANIFESTATION."
"Whether you think you can or think you can't, either way you are right."
There is some truth in this, but the reality is there are many things you can't do without God. They are twisting the scriptures. The
Bible says in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." The New Age says it can do all things without Christ.
The Secret - 169 "…the Supreme Mind"
p. 170 "You can do anything you want. You are a genius beyond description," "We are unlimited beings. We have no ceilings."
*This is flattery! The Bible says beware of a flattering tongue. Pr. 6:24. There is some truth in this statement. But we do have limitations because we will die some day. We are also limited because other people live on this planet who own property and society has laws that limits us.
The Secret - p. 170 "You have gained control of your thoughts, and that is where all your power is."
*It is true a person has power if he has self control. Your thoughts can't change the temperature of the sun nor the flowing and ebbing of the tides.
All power belongs unto God, not to you Mt. 28:18.
The Secret - p. 171 "To help myself become more aware, so I would remember, I ASKED THE UNIVERSE…"
*Ask the Universe? How dumb! The Universe has no brain. We are to ask God. The Universe has no life in itself without God. How can the Universe answer prayer when it can't even hear you.
The Secret - p. 171 "The real secret of power is consciousness of power."
*Not true! The real secret of power is to know God's Word and be filled with the Holy Ghost. Acts 1:8. Hitler was conscious of power and it made him a brutal manic tyrant. He was defeated!
The Secret - p. 172 referring to randomly opening the book The Secret it says, "At the exact place where the pages fall open will be
the guidance and answer you are seeking."
*This has been a practice of some Christians with the Bible. I wouldn't recommend this. "The Secret" is attempting to replace the
Bible as the source of inspiration and faith.
The Secret -p. 172 "…receiving a sudden inspiration."
*This is a counterfeit of being inspired by the Holy Spirit.
The Secret - p. 172 "…love ourselves completely."
*We should love ourselves if we are living right. If we are corrupt it is impossible to love ourselves outside of having a perverted self-love which is harmful to others.
The Secret - p. 173 "To love yourself fully, you must focus on a NEW DIMENSION of you. You must focus on THE PRESENCE inside of you."
*The New Age focuses on your inner self inside you, or a presence. Col. 1:27. The Bible tells us to focus on 'Christ in us'.
Otherwise, the presence in you may be demonic. Mt. 12:22.
The Secret - p. 173 "Take a moment and sit still."
The Bible says, "Be still and know that I am Lord" Ps. 46:10, not YOU are Lord.
The Secret - p. 175 "You are a spiritual being." "Therefore, the pure essence of you has always been and always will be." This is reincarnation of Hinduism.
"…we are all One."
*We are spiritual beings. But some are of another spirit. 2 Co. 11:4. There is not only the Holy Spirit, there are evil spirits men interact with. The Bible says believers in Christ are one. Jn. 17:21. We are not one with unbelievers. 2 Co. 6:17.
The Secret - p. 175 "Let go of difficulties from your past, cultural codes, and social beliefs.",.
*Any way you look at this, the New Age is advocating for you to let go of your beliefs in sound Bible doctrine, and follow their teachings.
The Secret - p. 177 Neale Donald Walsch, "There is no blackboard in the sky on which God has written your purpose, your mission in life." "And all I have to do to really understand what I'm doing here, why I'm here, is to find that blackboard and find out what God really has in mind for me. But the blackboard doesn't exist."
*Not true! The blackboard does exist. It's the Bible.
The Secret - p. 177 Walsch "So your purpose is what you say it is. YOUR MISSION is the mission you give yourself. Your life will be what you create it as, and NO ONE WILL STAN IN JUDGMENT OF IT, NOR OR EVER."
*These are the words of an atheist. The Bible says, "It is appointed unto man once to die, and then the judgment."
Ps 10:4 "The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts." KJV
The Secret - p. 178 "When I really understood that my primary aim was to feel and experience joy, then I began to do only those things which brought me joy." "If it ain't fun, don't do it."
*That is the formula for destruction and failure. That is the party mentality. We work to be successful and most of the time it is not all that much fun or joyful. It's good to enjoy your work if possible, but work is a means to an end to achieve what we want so we can be contented and peaceful.
The Secret - p. 178 Neale Donald Walsch, "Joy, love, freedom, happiness, laughter. That's what it is." "If you enjoy eating a salami sandwich, then do that."
*It's not wrong to eat what you like if it's healthy. But that philosophy of life will lead one to a promiscuous, licentious gluttonous lifestyle of hedonism and self destruction.
The Secret - p. 179 "So inner happiness is the fuel of success."
"Be happy now. Feel good now. That's the only thing you have to do."
"Anything that makes you feel good is always going to be drawing in more."
*Being well with your own soul is important, but overall this feel good motivation is following one's flesh and will lead to adultery, pride, lying and every evil work.
Romans 8:13 says if you live after the flesh you will die.

*To the New Age a "proper education" is to give to people a godless education which in turn will produce a godless society of sophisticated pagans who have no rule but themselves. This universal godless education is now fully enforce and trying to consume the whole world and stamp out men living by the Bible.
The Secret - p. 181 "We could go anywhere. We could do anything."
*This was the mentality at the Tower of Babel. Ge. 11:9. God said whatever they imagined, they could do. That is why God confused the language and scattered them. Their thoughts were to escape God.

*The Bible says a flattering tongue is a destroyer.

*Again, this is a perversion of the scriptures. The Kingdom idea comes from the Bible and is talking about the Kingdom of God." Mt. 6:33.

*That is not true! The only way you are perfect is if you are in Christ and obey everything He tells you to do. Mt. 19:21. If you are not following Christ and living by God's Word. Otherwise, you are a troublemaker to mankind and a curse to the earth.
The Secret - p. 186 The New Age extols "His Holiness the Dalai Lama (Buddhist leader); Arun Gandhi (a Hindu) the grandson of Gandi.
They are promoting "GLOBAL NEW THOUGHT,"
*It teaches "meditation and scientific prayer". This is nothing but Christian Science.
*It teaches SPIRITUAL METAPHYSICS and MENTAL SCIENCE.
The Secret - p. 187 The book series "CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL" is one of the New Age series. 100 million copies are in print.
p. 190-1 "…freeing people of limiting beliefs."
The book "Men Are from Mars, Women are from Venus" is another New Age book that has sold 30 million copies. p. 192 John Hagelin's book, 'Manual for a Perfect Government,' explains how to solve major societal and Environmental problems and create world peace through policies in harmony with the law of nature."
*The New Age teaches transformation techniques, deep meditation, and energy healing.
*Prentice Mulford was one of the earliest writers and founders of the New Thought movement,"
p. 194 Other leaders in the New Thought are "Andrew Carnegie who passed it to Napoleon Hill, and then Hill passed it to Earl Nightingale. Earl Nightingale then passed the torch of wisdom to Bob Proctor." They were working developing 'mind potential'.

*Since this man is must be an atheist, it is amazing he would deceive his readers with such a title for his book, "Conversations with God". He is talking about a "New Spirituality". This is in reality a spirituality connected to the nether demonic world and not with God. He is a spiritual messenger alright. A messenger of Satan. 2 Co. 11:14-15.
The Secret - p. 197 Wallace Wattles wrote about the practice of "New Thought". Watson's many books have a significant impact on
